Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you charge a fee to investigate a home or business?
A: No. Our investigation and support service is free.
Q: What do you require if you investigate my home?
A: For your convenience, we’ve developed an Investigation Information page to assist you in preparing for the team’s arrival and understanding what to expect during and after the investigation.
Q: Do you travel outside of Nashville?
A: Our travel radius extends up to 50 miles for private cases. We can help connect you with a local-to-you paranormal team within our network if you're located quite a bit beyond this distance.
Q: I have a local business or historical property that needs to be investigated, but to not raise concern in the community I'll need the team to be discreet.
A: Certainly. We’ve conducted numerous investigations of private residences and local businesses, and we prioritize maintaining the confidentiality of this information.
Q: How can I request an investigation?
A: There are several ways you can contact us. You can fill out our contact form, our investigation request form, or call us at (615) 852-5161.
Q: What days can you investigate?
A: Weekends are the most convenient, but we’ll make every effort to work around your availability.
Q: How fast can your team come out?
A: Typically, based on the size of the location and the required number of investigators, we can determine the outcome within 5 to 10 days.
Q: Do you have to investigate at night?
A: No. Activity can indeed occur at any time of day, unless you notice a pattern.
Q: Can I be present during the investigation?
A: Absolutely. If you are staying on site, we will have you sit with one of our investigators at base camp. From there, you will be able to monitor the investigation. Our window of opportunity to capture evidence is small, so it’s crucial that the environment during the investigation remains calm and quiet to prevent contamination. If you have a large family, roommates, or other occupants, please arrange for them to be away during the investigation. Similarly, if you have small children or anxious pets, consider having a neighbor, friend, or family member take care of them during this time.
Q: I have a ghost and want to get rid of it. Can you all come and sage/bless my house to get rid of it for me?
A: Banishing a spirit isn’t as simple as it might sound. We can certainly calm the activity, but different hauntings need different cleansing techniques. It's crucial for the team to first determine the nature of the haunting. This process may take a few investigations to conclude. Once we have our findings, we can proceed with an appropriate herbal concoction to cleanse the home and calm the activity. For example, we may use sage, lavender, and palo santo. However, the effectiveness of these measures varies based on the type of haunting.
Regarding blessing a home, our team isn’t ordained for such activities, similar to a priest. If you seek a blessing or we determine one is needed, it’s advisable to invite an ordained minister or priest to perform the ritual. Keep in mind that burning sage or using other herbs to “get rid” of spirits is a common misconception. While sage or other herbs can help temporarily calm the environment, it isn’t a long-term solution.
In certain hauntings, herbs may provide brief respite, but effective communication with the unwanted guests is key. At NightSong, we investigate, document evidence, and determine the haunting type if it’s unknown. We also strive to identify the root cause and communicate with intelligent spirits for clarity. Our goal is to guide and empower clients in their next steps.
Sometimes, simply having a team understand the spirits can help them move on. Remember, you can always reach out to our team when you’re ready. We wish you peace during this process.
