Old South Pittsburg Hospital
NightSong Paranormal has a special relationship with the Old South Pittsburg Paranormal Research Center (OSPHPRC) in South Pittsburg, Tennessee — a 68,000 sq. ft. former hospital famous for its shadow figures, responsive voices, and full-building investigations. We’re honored to be among the very few teams personally approved by owner Ronnie Dee to host independent, ticketed events inside this incredible location. You can also catch us guest investigating during several of OSPH’s public hunts throughout the year!
Why this location?
Built in 1959 and closed in the late 1990s, the hospital saw decades of medical activity — births, surgeries, trauma, and loss. That kind of energy is exactly what makes it so active for investigators.
Multiple floors, long hallways, former ER areas, and a documented history of paranormal encounters make this one of the most reliable locations for structured investigations.

How NightSong Events Work Here
When we host at OSPHPRC, we keep the structure tight so everyone gets time in the hot spots. The building is big — so we rotate, log activity, and run controlled sessions.
1. Arrival & walkthrough
Check-in and safety overview. Ronnie Dee (or members of the OSPH volunteer staff) along with NightSong cover building history, active floors, and house rules from OSPHPRC.
2. Guided investigation
NightSong leads small groups through known active areas (ER, surgical floors, pediatric areas, long corridors) using our equipment.
3. Free-roam blocks
When we host at OSPH, we dedicate a special free roam period, allowing guests to explore different areas of the hospital for quieter, self-led investigation. It’s the perfect time to capture EVPs, experiment with your own equipment, or simply immerse yourself in the atmosphere of this historic location.
Reported Activity Inside the Hospital
This location is known for classic hospital-style hauntings — movement in halls when no one is there, voices from empty rooms, and full-figure sightings on upper levels.
Shadow figures
Seen in doorways and at the ends of hallways — especially when lights are low.
Disembodied voices
Hospital-style PA sounds, footsteps, and conversational voices responding during EVP.
Child spirit reports
Some groups have reported playful or lighter-energy activity in certain areas.
What to Bring
- Flashlight / headlamp
- Digital recorder / camera (optional)
- Extra batteries
- Closed-toe shoes (large building)
- Dress for the weather (it's barely climate controlled)

- Some areas may be off-limits for safety.
- Filming/social uploads must follow location’s media policy.
